CEO misunderstood the term “ownership” from me and asked “how much of a decrease in salary would you take for ownership”?

The concept of ownership I was citing was the ability to own your job and be given trust to do your role without micromanaging. His definition of ownership was how much stock options can I give in replacement of salary.... The whole conversation made me question the company.
