I swear this is how every interview went. Interview one, was over the phone. In that interview the recruiter told me how awesome the company was, he actually made it sound like a really good place to work. I really didn't want to work in fast food to which he said, we are fast casual; makeup on a pig, whatever. I agreed to meet a managing partner the following week. Aside from being 30 minutes late to the interview, he was a really nice guy. He didn't really ask many interview questions, just asked me what questions I had for him. The third interview was a working interview. I worked on a busy Saturday morning which seemed pretty silly to me. They have all this lingo they use and it got busy so of course they threw me on the drive thru to take orders. Then I was supposed to ring orders up, not knowing where any button was in the computer. I actually thought I did pretty good, I just think working on a slower shift would have been a little better. After the interview I sat down with the GM and immediately he says "Do you have any questions for me?" Every time I stopped talking he said the same thing again. I finally realized he was trying to get rid of me me (because they were busy) so I said no and left. The fourth interview was with the AD, which of course started like 20 minutes late. We sat down he said tell me about yourself then (wait for it, wait for it) asked me if I had any questions for him. At this point I started just asking old questions again. The fifth interview, was a Skype call with the RVP. This interview was actually pretty structured which was nice. He seemed like a really nice guy but began talking about alignment. He said that in the hiring process if someone wasn't aligned, everyone sat down and tried to come to alignment, if this couldn't happen they didn't hire. What this really meant was that if someone didn't like you, they keep interviewing you anyways and wasting your time. At the end of the interview, the RVP tells me that he is giving the area to another guy and he didn't feel comfortable hiring me, I needed to meet the new RVP? Of course I said yes but why did I even interview with this guy if he didn't feel comfortable hiring me, just dumb. So the next day I drove out for my 6th interview. The RVP showed up like 35 minutes late. They weren't on time for any face to face interview, pretty disrespectful. He then asked all kinds of weird questions about other companies I was interviewing for and even folded my resume into a little triangle. He kept looking around the whole interview, seemed very uninterested in me. He eventually told me that the AD needed to make a decision on me because he didn't like doing interviews. Once again why did I interview with this guy. At the end I was told they would have a decision in 4-5 days. I called on day 8 and finally got an email without an offer 11 days later, on a Sunday. The recruiter said he didn't have any feedback but that they worried about my long term plan with Raising Cane's. I worked at my last job for almost 6 years so I don't understand why they thought that but they easily could have addressed their concerns in an interview. They say they want to get to know you, well then let's meet outside of your workplace or go out for a drink. Don't be 30 minutes late for every interview then expect a nice casual chat. Worst recruiting process I've ever been through. Don't fall for their salesmanship. At the end of the day I had better options on the table, I hope you do to. What the job really sounds like is slaving over fryers for 10 hours a day, no thanks.
