A recruiter from Dräger reached out to have a first round/preliminary interview for a Mechanical Engineer I position in their Telford, PA site. It seemed well at first but on the day of an interview, the recruiter emailed about not giving him a response to his email within 15mins (on a Friday, EoD) of the interview asking to have it moved to the following Monday. I responded with confusion on my end but, affirming for the rescheduled interview date with some back and forth on the mutual time slot. The recruiter did not initiate the call at the agreed time so I called after waiting for 15mins. We talked about my background and felt confident after speaking with the recruiter. The following morning, I was informed by the recruiter the hiring manager had already decided to move forward with a candidate closer to there need. This total conundrum was a total of 5 days only to be informed of sorry not sorry, when it could've ended within a single day.
I suspect most likely they already had a candidate in mind by the time of scheduled interview and decided to be flakey about following up/disregard for an interview with the recruiter himself. It was a first of experiencing unprofessionalism in a recruitment process.
If you experience a sudden rescheduling with one of Dräger recruiters without explanation, best to either call them out for being flakey if you get a chance to talk to them or just say move on and forget about this company.
