“If you can't explain it to a six-year-old, you don't understand it yourself.”― Albert Einstein First know the report inside out. Represent data in a visual manner. Most people can grasp better if they see a chart rather than some number in the air. Don't overwhelm your client with charts and graphs and number. Avoid the industry buzz words, the poor fellow might not know what is a correlation or a standard deviation. for example, let's say I have conducted a Monte Carlo method to indicate the effect of incentives in enrollment behaviors of our client and I have to communicate the result to VP. I would briefly mention that I have used the Monte Carlo method which is randomly sampling the clients(no more details) then I would boil down the findings to 4 executive summaries and practical suggestions. However, I have more information on my sleeve to share if required.
