How do you address conflict in the operating room?
Anonymous
Focus on patient safety and solutions. If there is a problem that needs to be solved, focus on that first, and not the tone in which the person delivered the "request" or feedback. Stress can run high and tones can be brusque, but if you focus on what needs to be done first and foremost, you are taking care of the patient first. Put your ego aside while you take care of business. You can always circle back later and address any respect and/or behavioral aspects to the encounter with the individual(s) in question when the procedure is finished.
