My current employers were being so accomodating and even said that they would try to make it work around the random ever-changing schedule i was told to expect at the yard house. Charmed by all the amazing beer i just couldn't wait to be serving, i lost sight of reality; I let myself become distracted by a job i didn't even have (not to mention with work culture at best described as the antonym of fun... What's great beer without great company? hehe that was a pun.) I feel terrible to this day that I allowed my passion for beer compromise my personal work ethics and values, when i had such an amazing, accommodating employer; who cared about employee's enough to help each individual develop their desired careers inside or outside the company and in any way possible. I made two of the biggest mistakes of my Phoenix life journey during this process. 1. Choosing the Yard house as the craft beer bar i wanted to work at not just drink at. Then maintaining the interest through the interview and accepting offer despite becoming aware of the work culture and knowing that it at very least was not the typically company culture that i shine in.Super unfortunate, their line up is to die for, their menu feeds vegans like me, service is good (although its not uncommon that busers have mixed up delivered beers; so if you don't know beer well with respect to aroma and are with a group ordering the same style or beers similar in color/filtration..... You can be assured that the beer you ordered is being enjoyed by you, the guy sitting next to you, or at least by one of the guys across the table from you. In short, Having a bad idea then being too optimistic and resulting in a lack of desire to go to one of my favorite places anymore. 2. Not appreciating the amazing job that was paying me more! I feel terrible i was not the committed devoted employee that I am for them during my attempted hiring process at the yard house. I learned my lesson though; in the job world, the one who signs my check and the company putting food on my table will always take priority and get my best efforts, time & loyalty before other employers.
