Not coming from the hospitality industry, I recalled a time when a new client at a lobbying firm came in to give a six-figure check. He harassed me a bit about the flavor of our coffee, but I provided excellent service, getting him the coffee he wanted and not getting flustered by his expressed disgust over the coffee. I just nodded and smiled when he, finally pleased with his coffee, said, "Thank you. You will make a very good wife someday."
