The only thing that comes to mind is a sonine distribution in a phased array. This distribution of phase and amplitude creates low side lobes. A Taylor distribution is another of many distributions. The Sonine produces lower sidelobes compared to the Taylor, but will also have lower amplitude in the main beam (that is the price you pay).
