Why do I want to be a CNA?
Anonymous
Working in the laundry department at a healthcare facility has given me a unique perspective on the importance of every role within healthcare. Although my responsibilities have been behind the scenes, I have had the opportunity to interact with residents daily and observe the compassionate care provided by the CNAs. Over time, those experiences have inspired me to pursue a more direct role in caring for residents. As I got to know the residents, I realized that I wanted to make a greater impact on their daily lives. I enjoy building relationships with them, offering encouragement, and helping make their day a little brighter. Becoming a CNA would allow me to provide hands-on care, assist with their daily needs, and be someone they can trust and rely on. I find purpose in serving others, and I believe becoming a CNA is a meaningful way to live out that purpose. Working in the laundry department has also helped me understand the importance of teamwork in a long-term care facility. Every department plays a role in ensuring residents receive quality care, and I have developed a strong appreciation for the dedication of the nursing staff. Watching the CNAs care for residents with patience, compassion, and professionalism has motivated me to take the next step in my own career. I chose to pursue becoming a CNA because I want to grow within the facility where I already feel connected to the residents and staff. I am familiar with the environment, understand the needs of the residents, and am committed to continuing to serve them in a greater capacity. Becoming a CNA is not just a career advancement for me—it is an opportunity to make a more meaningful difference in the lives of the people I care about while continuing to grow both personally and professionally.
