Almost any answer is acceptable as long as you are honest. People join for many reasons: college money, health benefits, promise of retirement, to become disciplined, part of a brotherhood, to wear the uniform, etc. But just know that no matter why you join, and regardless of MOS, you face the very real possibility of going to war and being faced with having to kill people and with people trying to kill you.
