Growing up I always was taught that helping people is the most satisfying way to live life. I was fortunate enough to attend catholic school my whole academic life and through those years, I learned how important acts of service were. I always felt that I wanted to do something more, but never knew what till I explored the path of nursing. Although clinicals have been quite exciting and informative, a nurse externship will truly be able to provide real-world experience, exposure to other work areas I may not have experienced in clinical, and advise from real nurses on the job and working in the field. Through the externship, I will be able to take everything I have learned in the classroom and clinical and be able to put it into professional practice to improve upon them. This experience would not only be a great experience, but also elevate my confidence in the field.
