explain p-value in layman language:
Anonymous
A p-value helps you figure out if your experiment or test results happened by **chance** or if they are meaningful. Imagine you’re testing if a new medicine works better than the old one. After the test, you want to know if the difference in results is **real** or just happened randomly. A **small p-value** (like less than 0.05) means that the difference you observed is **unlikely** to be due to random chance and more likely to be real. A **large p-value** (greater than 0.05) means the difference could have easily happened by chance, so it's not strong evidence of a real effect. In short: - **Small p-value** = your results are likely **real**. - **Large p-value** = your results could just be **random chance**.
