"When hiring victim advocates, employers are looking for candidates who possess the listening skills and compassion to help victims of traumatic experiences seek legal and personal support. In an interview you will be asked about your interpersonal skills, desire to help others, and knowledge of the resources available to victims. Most employers will require you to have a degree in psychology, social work, or a similar field of study. Some employers value candidates who can speak another language."
