my answer is both machine performe metal removing process but in lathe machine job are fixed and tool are move and milling machine job are moving and tool is fixed

fitstly lathe is tool machine and different operation performance like facing threading growing slotting drill. Boring reaming and other some and milling also created. Teeth used multi cutting tool
