Learn how the process of inspecting, testing, or evaluating materials, components or assemblies for discontinuities works, and the differences in characteristics without destroying the serviceability of the part or system. You will be taught how to perform Liquid Penetrant Testing, Magnetic Particle Testing and Radiographic Testing.

• Daily NDT equipment maintenance checks.
• Perform Liquid Penetrant Testing, Magnetic Particle Testing and Radiographic Testing.
• Ability to participate in customer audits or Internal Kovatch Casting audits of the NDT process.
• Comply with company safety policies and procedures.
• Other duties may be assigned.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills such as Microsoft and Excel.
• Knowledge of customer material specification requirements.
• Knowledge of internal Kovatch Nondestructive Testing procedure requirements.
• Ability to interface with Engineering and Quality personnel in evaluation of NDT examination results.
• Ability to effectively interpret NDT technique sheets for Magnetic Particle and Radiographic examinations under direct observation of level 2 or 3.
• PHYSICAL DEMANDS – The physical demands and work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. • Specific vision abilities required by the job include a visual acuity examination that is to be performed at start of training and annually thereafter for all personnel. The examination shall be administered by medical personnel approved by the Responsible Kovatch Level 3 as defined in WI-0800. The person examined shall meet the requirements of Jaeger number 1 at not less than 12 inches or equivalent, in at least one eye either natural or corrected. The person examined shall also be able to see the colors red, green and others used in testing. Any limitations in color perception shall be evaluated and documented by the Responsible Level 3. Persons going in for eye surgery will be tested before and after surgery. Persons suffering an eye injury will be tested before returning to the performance of NDT examinations. Persons with a medical condition which affects eye sight when out of control, i.e. diabetes, stroke, etc. will be tested periodically during this time frame to ensure their ability to examine NDT test results will not be adversely affected.
• ATTENDANCE – Regular, predictable and reliable attendance is necessary as employees rely on each other and depend on each other to be present in order to work together to meet customers’ needs.
• The employee frequently works with hazardous substances and systems involving the production of radiation. The employee occasionally works with flammable materials. The employee is occasionally exposed to airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
• Eye protection is required in all manufacturing areas.

Pay: $18.03 - $20.03 per hour
