An instructor in this position will conduct or assist with college courses for undergraduate students in the Medical Assisting Program. This individual must possess the knowledge and skills to teach and supervise students in classroom, lab and clinical settings.
Instruct MED 138: Infection and Hazard Control course to the first year Medical Medical Assisting Students. Supervise students and develop teaching materials, activities and handouts for the course. Participate in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation activities to improve the instructional quality of the course. Maintain professional certification and seek opportunities for professional development. Perform duties assigned by the Department Chair.
Certified Medical Assistant CMA (AAMA) or
Registered Medical Assistant RMA (AMT)PLUS;
2. Associate Degree in Medical Assisting;
3. Minimum of two years full-time work experience in the field as a Medical Assistant. One additional year experience in Medical Assisting or a related healthcare field. (3 years total experience required)
1. Bachelor’s degree in a related health care field
2. Teaching experience in a community college system;
3. Experience with distance learning;
4. Experience working with software such as Moodle, Microsoft Word, Datatel, etc.
