We are looking for a Senior Accounting Analyst to join our talented team at AM Advisors. AM Advisors is a CFO and accounting practice based in Oakland, CA, changing the world of business accounting for small companies. We have a growing list of 40+ clients with an emphasis on architecture and engineering firms.

To succeed in this role, you must have a solid knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting processes. Our ideal candidate is extremely professional, with excellent communication and organizational skills, who can effectively manage multiple client projects and relationships.

Responsibilities:

Manage outstanding items and projects of clients for deadlines and timely completion and/or resolution

Supervise employees (Accounting analyst and clerks) performing financial reporting, accounting, billing and payroll

Hands-on accounting includes invoicing, accounts payable, payroll, accounts receivable processing, bank reconciliations, journal entries, financial report preparation and problem resolution of accounting issues Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports

Prepare or direct preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, reports required by regulatory agencies; ensure records are in compliance with all applicable government regulations and professional standards

Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures

Analyze financial details to identify development opportunities and areas where improvement is needed

Monitor financial activities and details, such as cash flow and reserve levels, to ensure that all legal and regulatory requirements are met

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field

3-5 years post college work experience

1-2 years experience in a managerial role (overseeing 1-2 employees)

Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills

Solid understanding of QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, and MS Office

Excellent communication and organizational skills
