Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Manager of Operations Reliability and Maintenance to lead our maintenance strategies and ensure optimal operational reliability in our NY operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee scheduling and coordinating job site work maintenance and operations , across multiple paper machine lines. Drive and implement best practices that drive efficiency, safety, and equipment performance. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, technical expertise in industrial maintenance, and a passion for continuous improvement.
Duties
- Establish and uphold standards of excellence in all aspects of EHS including housekeeping.
- Safety Leadership: Partner with the Site HSE Manager and safety coordinator to ensure all safety policies, procedures and systems are followed and drive a positive safety culture in maintenance and with all outside contractors and vendors.
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive reliability roadmap (RCM, FMEA) to improve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and reduce unplanned downtime. Create plans to improve reliability and establish world class machine performance through yield, utilization, availability, equipment and reliability.
- Team Management: Lead, coach, and mentor a team of maintenance planners, mechanics and E&I technicians. Foster a safety-first culture where "zero incidents" is the standard. Ensure, maintain, and administer maintenance policies and procedures of machine performance.
- Preventive & Predictive Maintenance (PdM): Direct the use of vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, and ultrasound to detect failures before they happen.
- Outage Management: Oversee the planning and execution of annual/semi-annual major shutdowns, ensuring projects are completed on time, under budget, and safely.
- Capital Projects: Collaborate with Engineering to oversee the installation and commissioning of new assets, ensuring "Reliability-Centered Design" is integrated from day one.
- Budgeting: Manage the Maintenance department’s multi-million dollar annual P&L, focusing on cost-optimization and spare parts inventory (MRO) management.
- Word Class Maintenance Process: Leveraging CMMS system, oversee the work request, validation, planning, execution and closure process to capture accurate cost and history to drive continuous improvement. Proactively manage the backlog to ensure timely execution of value adding priorities.
- Contractor Management: Coordinate outside contractor work in alignment with H&V EHS standards, including housekeeping.
- Special assignments or other related duties as assigned or required.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Reduction in Unplanned Downtime (% of operating time).
- Adherence to Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules.
Qualifications
- BS in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Paper Engineering and/or 7 (seven) years of prior experience, including employment in a process‐related industrial facility and/or an industrial consulting engineering design firm with relevant experience and skills (or equivalent years of "hands-on" leadership experience).
- Experience: 7–10+ years of maintenance leadership in a heavy industrial environment (Pulp & Paper experience strongly preferred).
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of paper machine operations, steam systems, hydraulics, and PLC/DCS control systems. Preferred.
- Certifications: CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) or CRL (Certified Reliability Leader) is highly desired.
- Software: Proficiency in CMMS platforms (like IMaint, SAP, JD Edwards, or Maximo).
- Drafting and Blueprint reading: Proficient in drafting, reading and interpreting various discipline blueprints.
Pay: $95,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
