Job Summary
Core Ecology Group (CEG) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Field Operations Coordinator to support field operations, project management, monitoring activities, and business development efforts across the southeastern United States.
This position is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to build a career in environmental consulting, forestry, ecological restoration and natural resource management. The successful candidate will work closely with company leadership to support project planning, field operations, site assessments, monitoring, proposal development, and quality assurance.
This is a hybrid position that combines field work, travel, and remote office responsibilities, offering significant opportunities for professional growth within a rapidly expanding environmental services company.
Duties
- Conduct project site visits and field assessments.
- Assist with project startup, implementation, and closeout activities.
- Support multiple field crews by coordinating logistics and communicating with supervisors.
- Assist with vegetation monitoring, restoration monitoring, treatment effectiveness evaluations, and mortality assessments.
- Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) inspections of active projects.
- Prepare project reports, monitoring summaries, herbicide records, and project documentation.
- Assist with GIS mapping, spatial data management, and map preparation.
- Research project opportunities through procurement platforms.
- Assist with proposal preparation, cost estimating, and project planning.
- Coordinate equipment inventories, maintenance schedules, and field logistics.
- Maintain project documentation and regulatory compliance records.
- Travel extensively throughout Tennessee, Georgia, and the southeastern United States as project needs require.
Skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently while supporting multiple ongoing projects.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with GPS data collection and field documentation.
- Experience with GIS software such as QGIS or ArcGIS is preferred.
- Knowledge of forestry, ecological restoration or natural resources is preferred.
- Ability to read maps, aerial imagery, and project plans.
- Experience operating ATVs, UTVs, trailers, or other field equipment is beneficial.
- Willingness to travel frequently, including overnight travel.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and over challenging terrain.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Must obtain a Commercial Pesticide Applicator License within 90 days of employment.

Pay: $42,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
