Overview
Performs skilled journey-level and master-level electrical work for the City’s electric, water, wastewater, and municipal facility systems. Installs, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, tests, inspects, and documents electrical power, controls, instrumentation, backup power, metering, and related systems.
Serves as the City’s licensed Michigan Master Electrician resource for code-compliant electrical installations, permit coordination, inspection support, electrical safety practices, and technical oversight of electrical work performed by City staff or contractors. When designated by the City, serves as the City’s Master Electrician of record for applicable electrical contractor licensing, permitting, inspection, and code-compliance purposes.
Work includes, but is not limited to, electrical substations, voltage regulation equipment, distribution system protection, backup power systems, transmission switching stations, water tower control systems, water well control systems, water filtration plant control systems, wastewater treatment plant electrical systems, power switchgear, heating and ventilation systems, PLC controllers, relaying, monitoring systems, security control systems, fire sprinkler electrical controls, single-phase and three-phase building wiring, control panels, metering systems, and support to other field crews.
Pay: $55.00 per hour
