The Role
We’re seeking an experienced Jewelers Block & Fine Arts Underwriter to join our specialty team. This is a high-visibility, remote position with exposure to senior leadership, top brokers, and complex risks across the U.S.
Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite new and renewal Jewelers Block and Fine Arts business
- Evaluate risk details including appraisals, inventory, loss history, and security measures
- Price and structure coverage, terms, and conditions for complex placements
- Build relationships with retail agents, brokers, and carrier partners
- Review documentation such as appraisals, certificates of authenticity, and provenance
- Collaborate with claims, operations, and leadership on portfolio performance
- Contribute to product development and underwriting strategy
Qualifications
- 3+ years of underwriting experience (Jewelers Block, Fine Arts, Inland Marine, or similar)
- Knowledge of jewelry and/or fine art exposures (retail, wholesale, collections, galleries, etc.)
- Strong risk assessment and pricing judgment
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with high-level clients and brokers
- Proficiency in Excel and underwriting systems
- Property & Casualty license preferred
- Industry designations (CPCU, AU, AINS, AMIM) or credentials (GIA, AAA) a plus
