High-end, custom metal fabrication shop seeking a career-oriented, experienced Lead Installer.
Join our team of fabricators, machinists, welders and finishers in a specialized role travelling to job sites to install our fine metalwork with precision and efficiency.

This is a full-time position where up to 50% of your time will involve travelling to high-end construction sites in New York City, around New England, and occasionally to locations in California and Florida, for up to 1 month stints at a time.
Your remaining time would be spent as part of a team on our shop floor providing the opportunity to grow and hone skills while working on the fabrication and finishing of projects prior to installation.
What We Are Looking For:
- The Ideal Candidate: You already have hands-on experience installing fine metals or millwork, with a strong focus on precision and care. You are familiar with high-end residential construction, have a strong work-ethic and excellent leadership and communication skills. You can handle high stess job-sites and deadlines, and excel at solving technical problems.
- The Trainable Professional: If you don't have direct metal installation experience, but have a solid background in an adjacent trade installation (millwork, carpentry, fine finishes) we want to talk to you. If you have the right work ethic and relatable skills and experience, we are willing to train you.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Survey & Preparation: Travel to job sites prior to installation to accurately measure and document job site conditions. Identify potential issues and prepare for an efficient and successful installation. Organize, pack and prepare for on-site work.
- Installation: Assemble and install a range of custom metalwork (railings, staircases, shelving systems and decorative trim) to company specifications - while prioritizing precision, safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Communicate and collaborate: Remain in close contact with our project management team during install process.
- Safety: Adhere to all OSHA and company and job-site specific safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Maintain a clean, organized job site.
- Driving and Deliveries: Occasional pick-ups and deliveries to outside vendors, suppliers and job sites
- Client Satisfaction: Represent the company professionally when interacting with architects, contractors, and other trades
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency with blue prints, shop drawings and high-end construction specifications and tolerances
- Technical Skills: Strong spatial awareness, mathematical reasoning, and proficiency with layout tools, power tools, hand tools, metalworking machinery.
- Flexibility: ability to quickly and cooly adapt to change in schedule, instruction and site conditions
- Ability to effectively collaborate with highly skilled and creative fabricators from various backgrounds and expertise.
- Ability to take direction from others and be willing to problem-solve technical challenges as part of a team.
- Work Environment: Ability to remain focused when working in a busy, distracting, challenging and sometimes less-than-ideal environments
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy materials (often up to 50 - 75 pounds), and work long days when required to meet deadlines
- Reliability: Positive attitude, goal driven work ethic and the desire to join a stable and growing company
