Job Summary

We are seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) to support an orthopedic surgeon in a fast-paced outpatient clinic. The ATC serves as a key member of the clinical team, assisting with patient care, clinic flow, medical documentation, and patient education. The ideal candidate is organized, patient-focused, and comfortable working directly with orthopedic and sports medicine patients throughout their care journey.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist orthopedic surgeon during clinic visits by preparing patients for examination and treatment.
• Obtain and document patient histories, chief complaints, medications, and relevant medical information.
• Assist with in-office procedures including injections, casting, splinting, brace fitting, wound care, and dressing changes.
• Apply and remove casts, splints, braces, and durable medical equipment (DME) as directed by the physician.
• Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, rehabilitation protocols, post-operative care, and injury prevention.
• Coordinate imaging studies, referrals, therapy orders, and follow-up appointments.
• Review diagnostic imaging and testing with the physician to facilitate patient care planning.
• Respond to patient phone calls, messages, and clinical questions within scope of practice.
• Ensure exam rooms are stocked, organized, and prepared for patient visits.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, clinic policies, and applicable healthcare regulations.
• Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, medical assistants, and administrative staff to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related field required.
• Current Board of Certification (BOC) certification as an Athletic Trainer.
• Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as required.
• CPR/AED certification preferred.
• Previous orthopedic, sports medicine, or physician practice experience preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred.

• Strong knowledge of orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions.
• Excellent patient assessment and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in medical documentation and EMR systems.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist patients throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift and move equipment and supplies up to 25 pounds.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to perform clinical procedures and documentation tasks.

Pay: $30.00 - $37.00 per hour
