OSI is seeking a Jr. Network Administrator to work on contract in support of Federal Prison Industries (UNICOR).

Position: Jr. Network Administrator

Locations: Current Positions are located at one of the Central Office.

Butner, NC

Position Summary:

Junior Network Administrator Is a member of the team responsible for keeping the network running efficiently. The Junior Network Administrator ensures that all computers and other devices connected to networks- like routers, hubs and switches -- are operating correctly.

At the direction of the lead Network Administrator, the Junior Network Administrator responds when network anomalies cause network Issues

Positions require good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to Independently Interact with teammates and managers and must also be able to communicate effectively with non-technical users. Experience In training and/or teaching software applications a plus. Excellent communication, customer service skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced regulated environment are a must.

Thorough understanding of the following areas through a combination of Education and Help Desk Administration, User Support, Networking and Infrastructure, Computer Systems Analysis and Design, Computer Hardware and Software, Business and Management Information Systems practices and principals. Experience with Microsoft Windows 11, Microsoft Server 2022, Microsoft Office M365 suite, Exchange with Outlook Client, Active Directory, System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), System Center Operations Manager (SCOM), Service Now Help Desk System, Windows Operating System Deployment (OSD), SAP (basic knowledge of user management)

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Monitor network performance and report connectivity or performance issues.
• Troubleshoot basic network, hardware, and software problems.
• Support the administration of LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
• Assist in managing DNS, DHCP, IP addressing, and network access controls.
• Perform routine network maintenance, upgrades, and firmware updates.
• Create and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and inventory records.
• Respond to help desk tickets related to network connectivity and user access issues.
• Escalate complex issues to senior network administrators or engineers.
• Support network security initiatives, including user access management and security monitoring.
• Participate in disaster recovery and backup testing activities.
• Assist with vendor coordination and equipment deployment projects.

Requirements:

• Junior Network Administrator requires 4 years of networking experience

Certifications:

• CompTIA Network+ certification can be used to substitute for 1 year of network experience

Shift: Monday thru Friday 8hrs.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
