Annual Salary Range: $71,800 - $105,900
The successful candidate’s placement in the salary range will depend upon previous experience in a similar role. The placement shall not exceed the midpoint of the salary range, which is $88,800 annually.

DESCRIPTION / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Visual Art Coordinator is an important member of the Community Arts team within the Arts & Culture Division. This position is responsible for designing the visual art projects and supervising the event staff at Community Arts events such as Art in the Parks, Free Art Friday and Tempe Jam. Other visual art projects include coordinating contracted artists to create participatory art experiences for events. This position recruits, trains and supports visual art residencies and programs with Tempe's elementary, middle and high schools, such as Guest Artists Program, Art Tempe and Studio Artists Program.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following
REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
Three (3) years of experience in arts and cultural events, programming, production, operations, management, or related experience.
Candidates must have the minimum amount of work experience. Years of experience are based upon a full-time work schedule (2,080 hours per year). The sum of an applicant’s full-time and/or part-time qualifying work experience must meet or exceed the stated minimum qualification. Education will not substitute for the required work experience; however, related unpaid and/or volunteer work experience may be used as qualifying work experience.
Education:
Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in performing arts, fine arts, arts administration, history or related field.
The term “equivalent” means that directly related work experience exceeding the required work experience will substitute in equal one-year increments for college-level education (2 additional years for an associate degree and 4 additional years for a bachelor’s degree).
