Location: Tualatin, Oregon (Hybrid: 3 days on-site / 2 days remote)
Contract: 1-year engagement (potential extension based on performance)

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Staff Product Engineer with expertise in RF Power Systems to play a key role in the development, qualification, and lifecycle management of high-performance RF power systems used in semiconductor manufacturing equipment. This highly visible position offers broad influence across product engineering, supplier quality, and manufacturing excellence.

You will work at the intersection of RF engineering, systems integration, and advanced semiconductor manufacturing to ensure exceptional reliability and performance in complex, mission-critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical problem-solving for RF power systems used in semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions (RCCA) for complex hardware and system-level issues.
• Support new product introduction (NPI), product qualification, and supplier readiness activities.
• Partner with global suppliers to improve manufacturing processes, test methods, and quality systems.
• Apply structured problem-solving methodologies, including SPC, DOE, GR&R, 8D, and 5-Why analysis.
• Work hands-on with high-power RF systems (1–60 MHz, multi-kilowatt environments), including transmission line theory, impedance matching, and RF measurement techniques.
• Utilize advanced electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and related instrumentation.
• Drive continuous improvements in product reliability, manufacturability, and test efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in RF power systems, semiconductor equipment, or complex electro-mechanical systems.
• Strong understanding of RF theory, transmission lines, impedance matching, and RF calibration techniques.
• Hands-on experience with PCB assembly, laboratory testing, and precision electrical measurement equipment.
• Working knowledge of industrial quality systems and manufacturing standards, including ISO, IPC, IEEE, UL, and RoHS.
• Demonstrated experience applying structured problem-solving methods within cross-functional engineering teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical findings to engineering teams and stakeholders.
• Candidates located within the Portland metropolitan area or surrounding Oregon communities are preferred to support regular on-site collaboration.
