Lead Teacher
We seek qualified Lead Teachers to care for and enrich young children from AGE 6 WEEKS to 3 YEARS. We are looking for exceptional persons to join our supportive team; responsible leaders who are friendly, enthusiastic, and respectful and who want to be engaged in creating a safe, healthy environment to teach and stimulate the young minds in their care. Diligent teachers ready to use their education and skills to contribute to a positive environment for children, families and teachers to thrive. Of course, our teachers must have a great love and patience for children!

Qualifications needed include strong grasp of Colorado Rules & Regulations, competency in appropriate classroom and child behavior management, knowledge of best practices and preschool educational methods, as well as the ability to engage children and earn their trust and attention. Must be responsible and vigilant in closely supervising young children.

Job Responsibilities Include:

• Active, close supervision of the children at all times
• Develop a developmentally appropriate and creative program suitable for preschool children
• Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach children
• Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
• Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
• Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a developmentally appropriate curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.)
• Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
• Track children’s progress and report to parents and supervisors
• Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children’s background and psyche
• Collaborate with other educators
• Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards

Requirements: Skills & Education/Credentials

• Proven experience as a Preschool Teacher
• Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
• Well versed in safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
• Vigilant & responsible to closely SUPERVISE young children
• Excellent communication and instructional skills
• Ability to act as mediator between children
• Cool-tempered, friendly and RELIABLE
• Respectful & professional attitude at all times with co-workers and supervisors
• Some lifting of children may be required (up to 45 lbs.) and must be flexible/mobile for bending, stooping, stretching, squatting, sitting on floors, walking
• Knowledge of childhood illnesses/symptomology and be able to take action
• All State of Colorado Childcare credentials to act as a Lead Teacher
• Certification in child CPR & 1st Aid a plus
• CDA or AA/ BSc/BA in Early Childhood Education or relevant field is preferred.
• Background clearance with the State of Colorado and Child Care Licensing is a prerequisite to employment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
