Job Summary
At Mold Shark, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Florida Licensed Mold Assessor (MRSA) to join our growing team. The successful candidate will perform residential and commercial mold assessments, moisture investigations, indoor air quality evaluations, environmental sampling, and prepare comprehensive assessment reports in accordance with Florida law and accepted industry standards.
This position requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to professionally interact with homeowners, property managers, contractors, insurance adjusters, and attorneys. Our assessors utilize advanced diagnostic equipment including thermal imaging cameras, moisture meters, borescopes, air sampling equipment, and indoor air quality instrumentation to identify moisture intrusion and fungal conditions.
Responsibilities
- Perform residential and commercial mold assessments throughout Florida.
- Conduct comprehensive visual inspections for moisture intrusion, water damage, and visible microbial growth.
- Perform moisture mapping utilizing moisture meters, thermal imaging cameras, hygrometers, and other diagnostic equipment.
- Collect environmental samples including air samples, surface swabs, tape lifts, cavity samples, and bulk samples when appropriate.
- Operate indoor air quality monitoring equipment.
- Document findings through detailed notes, photographs, videos, and diagrams.
- Prepare professional mold assessment reports, remediation protocols, and post-remediation verification reports.
- Explain inspection findings and recommendations to clients in a professional and understandable manner.
- Maintain compliance with Florida Statutes Chapter 468, OSHA requirements, and applicable ANSI/IICRC standards.
- Coordinate with remediation contractors, insurance companies, and other industry professionals when necessary.
- Maintain company equipment.
Qualifications
Required
- Active Florida Mold Assessor License (MRSA)
- Valid Florida Driver's License
- Clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Comfortable working in attics, crawlspaces, rooftops, and confined spaces
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects
Preferred
- Experience performing mold assessments
- Experience preparing professional assessment reports
- Experience with moisture investigations
- Knowledge of ANSI/IICRC S520 and S500 Standards
- Experience using:
- FLIR Thermal Cameras
- Protimeter Moisture Meters
- Tramex Moisture Meters
- Buck BioAire Air Sampling Pumps
- Borescopes
- Hygrometers
- Experience working with insurance claims
- Indoor Air Quality experience

Pay: $43,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
