Background
This project aims to support the adaptation of an agrometeorological online training course originally developed in English. To ensure accessibility and effective uptake by Francophone audiences, the course content must be adapted into French for local contexts. Given the specialized nature of agrometeorology, climate services, and early warning, the adaptation requires both strong language skills and domain expertise to ensure accuracy, clarity, and contextual relevance.
The objective of this consultancy is to provide high-quality technical adaptation to local contexts of an online agrometeorology course from English into French, ensuring that the scientific content and terminology intent are accurately conveyed for Francophone learners.

Required Skills and Experience
Education:
Advanced university degree in Agrometeorology, Meteorology, Climate Science, Agriculture, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Experience
At least 3–5 years of professional experience in agrometeorology, climate services, agricultural extension, or climate risk management. Demonstrated experience in technical adaptation to local contexts (English-French) or multilingual content adaptation of scientific or training materials.
Other Requirements
Proven knowledge of agrometeorology, climate services, early warning systems, and/or climate information for agriculture. Familiarity with terminology standards used by WMO, FAO, CGIAR, and development partners.
Languages
Native or near-native proficiency in French and excellent command of English (written and spoken). (Note: The official languages of WMO are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.)

Probation
Possibility of renewal subject to the availability of funds and pending satisfactory performance after an initial probationary period of one year which can be extended up to a maximum of two years.
