Neighbor-to-Neighbor (N2N) AmeriCorps Fellows serve in communities across Northern California to build volunteer infrastructure and strengthen community engagement within nonprofits and local government agencies (Host Sites). Their work supports the development of thriving, connected neighborhoods with the goal of creating more resilient communities in the face of challenges such as social isolation, climate change, and disasters. Fellows serve by: Creating sustainable systems to connect neighbors and to recruit, train, manage, and support volunteers and Neighborhood Leaders; Engaging the community through outreach, neighborhood events, and awareness-building around social connection, climate action, and disaster preparedness; Supporting partnership development and fundraising efforts to strengthen volunteer programs and community initiatives. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to grow and apply leadership, community organizing, and program development skills while making a lasting difference. Fellows receive extensive training in volunteer management, community engagement, and nonprofit professional practices throughout their service term.
Member Duties : N2N places AmeriCorps Fellows at nonprofit & government sites to strengthen community resilience by expanding volunteer infrastructure & building social connections. Fellows serve behind the scenes to create sustainable volunteer programs & also work directly with community members through outreach & events by engaging the public in initiatives related to social isolation, disaster preparedness, & climate action. Each Fellow serves at one site & joins a cohort of 20 members serving in pairs across the region. Responsibilities: Manage volunteer systems, recruit/support volunteers, track participation, coordinate outreach/events, build partnerships, & participate in training & cohort events. Requirements: 18+, HS diploma/GED, U.S. citizen/legal resident, background check, TB test, 11 month commitment, strong communication & leadership skills. Benefits: $3,000/month stipend, 2 Education Awards, health benefits, loan deferment, professional development, CalFresh eligibility.
