What is a Probe Card?

A probe card is a critical component in semiconductor testing, acting as the interface between automated test equipment and the semiconductor wafer. These assemblies often include complex multi-layer PCBs with tens of thousands of routed traces and thousands of discrete components, supporting mixed-signal, high-speed, RF, and power-delivery paths. Precision and electrical integrity are essential for accurate wafer-level testing.

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Laser & Inspection Tool Operator to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for operating precision laser machining equipment while performing detailed inspections to ensure all components meet stringent quality standards and micron-level tolerances. The ideal candidate has experience with laser systems, precision measurement equipment, and quality inspection processes in a manufacturing or cleanroom environment. Strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain consistent quality are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Operate Laser Equipment: Set up, operate, and monitor precision laser machining systems to manufacture high-quality components from materials including ceramics and plastics while maintaining micron-level accuracy.
• Inspect and Verify Product Quality: Perform in-process and final inspections using precision metrology equipment, including microscopes, calipers, micrometers, gauges, digital indicators, and other inspection tools to verify compliance with engineering specifications.
• Review Drawings and Programs: Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, SolidWorks models, and AutoCAD files to ensure accurate production and inspection.
• Maintain Quality Documentation: Accurately record inspection results, production data, nonconforming material, and process information while maintaining complete traceability.
• Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and calibration checks on laser and inspection equipment to ensure reliable operation.
• Troubleshoot Equipment and Processes: Identify and resolve equipment or process issues affecting production quality or efficiency and communicate concerns to engineering or maintenance as needed.
• Maintain Controlled Environment: Ensure production areas meet required specifications for temperature, humidity, vacuum, air pressure, and other environmental controls.
• Follow Cleanroom Procedures: Adhere to all cleanroom protocols, safety requirements, and quality standards to maintain product integrity.
• Support Continuous Improvement: Participate in process improvements that enhance quality, inspection accuracy, productivity, and equipment performance.

Qualifications

• Experience operating laser machining equipment in a precision manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience performing visual and dimensional inspections using precision measurement equipment, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, digital indicators, optical comparators, and microscopes.
• Ability to detect defects and verify product conformance to tight tolerances and engineering specifications.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and CAD files.
• Working knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to consistently achieve micron-level precision.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and production issues.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy, and safety.
• Previous experience working in a cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environment is preferred.

Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 7pm – 3:30am

Pay: $28.00 - $33.00 per hour
