SUMMARY

Hauling glass in a dump or belt fed trailer from the Greater Tennessee area to the designated storage facilities.

MAJOR EXPECTATIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following tasks:

• Operates vehicle in accordance with Recycle Services procedures and protocols, OSHA (Occupational and Safety Health Act) and DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements as well as all local, state and federal laws.
• Operate Medium-Sized equipment specifically Front-End Loaders
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle and documents checks utilizing the standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report).
• Immediately reports all unsafe situations or service-related issues to immediate Supervisor.
• Communicates customer requests to Supervisor.
• Identifies and reports all needs for repair or replacement.
• Completely dumps all scheduled loads and leaves the customer’s location clean.
• Follows route assignments as directed and completes end of day documentation and check out process.
• Able to fill out load paperwork correctly and distinguish between different commodities
• Local, Regional and OTR assignments

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

CDL Class A, with doubles endorsement if assigned to drive doubles unit.
