Requirements:

• Reliable transportation to and from sites.
• Sites include WAPI offices (Seattle/Federal Way), community agencies and high schools within King County.
• History working with youth of color and refugees
• Substance Use Disorder Professional Certificate preferred, SUDPT with 50 hours completed
• Bilingual preferred
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Previous addiction/chemical dependency work experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, version 5 (DSM-5) American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria as it relates to diagnosis, individual service planning, clinical placement, continuing care, discharge and transfers.
• Must work independently with ability to help maintain an environment that encourages teamwork, interdependence, and ethical behavior.
• Ability to take directions and follow through with recommendations of program manager and clinical supervisor.
• Associate's degree in SUD Studies by a Washington State Department of Health approved college; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Current certification as a Substance Use Disorder Professional in Washington State required
• Must maintain a valid Washington Driver's License and pass background check.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide assessments and admissions.
• Create initial Individual Service Plans.
• Contribute to the WAPI team by working effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
• Effectively interact with a diverse population of youth.
• Be familiar with and follow Washington State and Federal mental health, substance use disorder and related health laws, HIPAA regulations and contractual requirements.
• Be familiar with and follow Agency and County Personnel Policies and Procedures.
• Maintain professional credentials required for the service being provided; including CEU credits as needed to maintain credentials.
• Be familiar with and follow the laws of King County, State of Washington, Department of Health and the Federal government as they pertain to substance use disorder practice.
• Be familiar with school agreements that pertain to clinical practice.
• Act as a liaison between the agency and community partners/schools.
• Attend in-house and County training to improve clinical skills.
• Practice standards for managed care as it applies to clinical practice.
• Maintain high quality work and patient care and provision of all services in a culturally-sensitive manner.
• May provide direct supervision and training of CDP Trainees and Volunteers.
• Respond immediately to requests from staff for crisis situations in Agency.
• Perform other duties and assignments as requested by the Executive Director or Clinical Supervisor.
• If a former participant in SUD treatment, must have completed treatment and maintained recovery for a minimum of two years before employment.
