Position Overview
CGS Health is seeking a Client Implementation Specialist to support the successful onboarding and renewal of employer health plans. This is an execution-focused, operations role responsible for driving implementation tasks across benefits setup, eligibility, vendor coordination, and go-live readiness.
This role is intentionally structured as a specialist-level position (not a manager role) and is ideal for someone who thrives in detailed, process-driven work and cross-functional coordination. The right candidate is a self-directed operator who can quarterback onboarding from kickoff to go-live managing multiple workstreams simultaneously with precision and accountability.
Client presence is a core part of this role, not an occasional add-on. You will be a visible, trusted point of contact for clients, brokers, and vendors throughout the implementation lifecycle. How you show up in those interactions directly shapes the client’s confidence in CGS Health.
Effective communication skills and professional judgment in client-facing settings are essential.
Core Responsibilities
Day-to-Day Operations
- Execute end-to-end client onboarding and renewal activities in accordance with established implementation plans and timelines
- Build, validate, and maintain benefit plan configurations across internal systems and vendor platforms
- Coordinate eligibility setup, file reviews, carrier feeds, and vendor handoffs (medical, PBM, dental, vision, COBRA, stop-loss, etc.)
- Partner with Account Management to ensure benefit elections, funding arrangements, and client expectations are accurately reflected
- Track implementation tasks, risks, and dependencies; escalate issues proactively with clear documentation
- Support member readiness activities including ID cards, plan documents, communication materials, and enrollment validation
- Participate in implementation calls with internal teams, vendors, brokers, and clients as needed
- Ensure all implementation deliverables meet quality, accuracy, and compliance standards prior to go-live
Operational & Systems Focus
- Maintain detailed implementation documentation and checklists
- Update project trackers and internal systems with accurate, real-time status
- Review and validate inbound data files for accuracy and completeness
- Support post-go-live stabilization and transition to ongoing account management
- Contribute to process improvement by identifying gaps, risks, and recurring issues
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in benefits administration, client implementation, or healthcare operations
- Working knowledge of self-funded medical plans and related vendor ecosystems (TPA, PBM, enrollment, stop-loss)
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams with strong attention to detail
- Comfort working in structured processes with defined timelines and deliverables
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Excel and document management tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a TPA, carrier, or benefits administration implementation environment
- Hands-on experience with eligibility files, benefit plan setup, or system configuration
- Familiarity with employer group health plans, renewal cycles, and CAA/ACA compliance requirements
Growth & Development
CGS Health is a growing organization, and this role is designed to develop with you. High performers have two clear paths forward:
- Deepen your expertise and grow into a Senior Specialist role the subject matter authority our team and clients rely on
- Broaden into client-facing leadership and transition toward an Implementation Manager role over time
We invest in the people who invest in the work. We will support whichever direction fits you best.
Why This Role Matters
