Work Arrangement: Onsite in Plano, TX (5-days work at customer site)
Role Summary:
Join a team delivering vehicle multimedia experiences across head units, navigation, voice assistants, media, connected audio, and more. As the Multimedia (MM) Technical Lead, you ll own technical and architectural execution from planning and development through quality assurance and release while coordinating cross-functional and cross-region stakeholders. You ll triage real-world issues, lead deep-dive technical discussions, and align supplier delivery to milestone commitments. This is an opportunity to combine strong engineering depth with practical program leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Develop deep understanding of multimedia architecture across key domains (Head Unit, Navigation, Voice Assistant, Media, SXM, Connected Audio, etc.)
- Lead multimedia product delivery from planning through development, launch, QA, and release
- Collaborate with headquarters in Japan to align vehicle milestones and SW release schedules
- Define development scope for the NA region based on budget, resources, capabilities, and schedule
- Manage suppliers to ensure schedule alignment and proactive risk mitigation
- Partner with program managers and product owners to assess risk and drive timely decisions
- Lead triage for in-market cross-domain issues using specification study, user impact analysis, and system architectural reviews
- Coordinate with quality and factory teams to address risks and execute countermeasures
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
- Experience leading technical teams while staying hands-on with complex systems
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders under tight milestone commitments
- Strong problem-solving skills with root-cause mindset for multimedia system issues
Required Skills/Experience:
- 3+ years of proven experience in vehicle multimedia development
- Strong understanding of automotive multimedia hardware/software stacks
- Expert-level PowerPoint and presentation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced teams with quick decision-making
- Strong technical and product management capability to align suppliers and stakeholders
- Experience collaborating with design, software, firmware, testing, and manufacturing teams
Other Skills:
- Executive reporting experience
- Business Japanese (read/write) not mandatory, but a plus
