Position Overview:
Tri State is seeking a motivated and experienced Network Engineer / Network Implementation Specialist to support a growing portfolio of federal, commercial, and enterprise network infrastructure projects throughout the United States. The successful candidate will be responsible for network design, implementation, programming, troubleshooting, wireless surveys, and infrastructure assessments involving Cisco, Juniper, and Meraki networking solutions.
This position is based in Charleston, South Carolina, and requires the ability to travel nationwide as project requirements dictate. Travel may account for up to 50% of the employee's time.
Key Responsibilities:
The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, configuring, deploying, and supporting wired and wireless network infrastructure solutions. Duties include conducting site surveys, developing network topologies, programming switches and network devices, supporting wireless access point (WAP) deployments, and providing technical support during implementation and commissioning activities.
Additional responsibilities include:
· Designing and documenting network architectures and topologies.
· Configuring and deploying Cisco, Juniper, and Meraki network equipment.
· Performing wireless site surveys and assisting with wireless network design.
· Developing network equipment configurations and deployment documentation.
· Supporting network troubleshooting and performance optimization.
· Assisting with material takeoffs, equipment recommendations, and project estimates.
· Coordinating with project managers, engineers, customers, and field technicians.
· Producing as-built documentation and network diagrams.
· Supporting network cutovers, migrations, and system acceptance testing.
· Maintaining compliance with customer, industry, and federal security requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Minimum of three (3) years of experience designing, configuring, and deploying enterprise network infrastructure.
· Must be able to pass background investigation and toxicology screening.
· Must be able to be granted a government security clearance.
· Experience working with Cisco Catalyst switching platforms.
· Experience with Juniper networking equipment and configuration.
· Experience with Cisco Meraki networking and cloud-managed solutions.
· Experience performing network surveys, assessments, and topology development.
· Experience with wireless network design and wireless access point deployment.
· Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, and wireless technologies.
· Ability to read and develop network diagrams and technical documentation.
· Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience supporting federal government, USPS, Department of Defense, and other public-sector projects.
· Experience utilizing Ekahau or similar wireless survey platforms.
· Experience with network security best practices and secure network architecture.
· Experience supporting large-scale network refresh or migration projects.
· Additional industry certifications such as CCNA,CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIS, CWNA, or equivalent are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
The position may require climbing ladders, lifting equipment up to 50 pounds, working in telecommunications rooms, data centers, and active construction environments, and standing or walking for extended periods during surveys and installations.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
