Home Medix, a leading Durable Medical Equipment (DME) provider, is seeking a motivated and experienced Billing Specialist to join our growing team. You will play a crucial role in managing outstanding accounts, working with insurance companies, and resolving payment issues for our DME services.

Responsibilities:

• Payment/Cash Posting
• Contact insurance companies to follow up on unpaid or partially paid claims, resolving any discrepancies or issues.
• Work with patients to establish payment plans or resolve outstanding balances.
• Maintain accurate records of all billing activities, including correspondence, phone calls, and payment arrangements.
• Collaborate with the billing department to resolve claim denials, underpayments, or other payment issues.
• Monitor the effectiveness of collection efforts and adjust strategies as needed.
• Stay up-to-date on relevant regulations and industry practices related to collections and DME billing.
• Provide excellent customer service while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in billing in the DME industry.
• Bilingual (English & Spanish)
• Strong knowledge of medical billing
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient in using billing software (such as BrightTree, or NikoHealth) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain professionalism and empathy when dealing with sensitive financial matters.
