*Job Summary*
The Service Manager oversees all aspects of equipment service, repairs, inspections, and technician workflow. This role ensures that every unit in the fleet meets US Aerials’ standards for safety, reliability, and readiness. The Service Manager leads the technician team, manages work orders, coordinates with dispatch and sales, and ensures compliance with internal SOP
*Responsibilities*
- Lead, supervise, and develop a team of field and shop technicians.
- Manage daily service operations, including scheduling, dispatching, and prioritizing work orders.
- Ensure all repairs, inspections, and annual certifications are completed accurately and on time.
- Review, approve, and close work orders in alignment with company SOPs.
- Maintain fleet readiness, including preventive maintenance schedules and safety compliance.
- Coordinate with Inside Sales, Dispatch, and Operations to support customer needs and minimize downtime.
- Oversee parts inventory and purchasing approvals.
- Monitor technician productivity, quality of work, and adherence to safety standards.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support for complex repairs.
- Ensure accurate documentation, including service notes, inspection forms, and warranty claims.
- Support fleet planning, including de‑fleet, acquisitions, and equipment condition assessments
- Undertakes additional tasks as assigned by management
- Provides coverage for dispatch responsibilities in absence of dispatcher
*Experience / requirements*
- 5+ years of experience in equipment rental, heavy equipment service, or related industry.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of aerial lifts, telehandlers, and construction equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic reports.
- Excellent communication, organization, and workflow management skills.
- Proficiency with rental software platforms (e.g., Texada, RentalMan, or similar).
- Commitment to safety, compliance, and high‑quality service standards.
