Are you a science-focused engineer with a passion for hands-on technical work? We are seeking a detail-oriented Engineering Associate to join a multifunctional team at a premier research and development facility in Wilmington. This is a long term contract role where you will play a critical part in characterizing new materials and ensuring the reliability of cutting-edge hardware.
Key Responsibilities:
- Testing & Characterization: Operate and help develop benchtop test equipment to analyze material properties and conduct reliability testing.
- Lab Management: Maintain, verify, and calibrate laboratory equipment; ensure proper labeling and waste disposal protocols are followed.
- Data Analysis: Collect and compile complex data sets from various tests to support ongoing engineering projects.
- Technical Fabrication: Use hand-held power tools for sample preparation and hardware modification or fabrication.
- Problem Solving: Use scientific reasoning to troubleshoot and solve technical challenges within the lab environment.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- Technical Skills: * Proficiency in CAD modeling.
o Strong background in hands-on electrical engineering.
o Experience with programming and data acquisition systems.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional time management, organizational skills, and a strong motivation to learn new technical disciplines quickly.
- Communication: Fluency in English is required for collaboration with multifunctional teams.
