X-Y Tool and Die, Inc. designs automated equipment, fixtures, gages, molds, dies, tools, prototype parts and quality machined parts for many industries. RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop industrial electrical and controls system design solutions based on engineering principles and involvement in presentation of the solution to customers for specialized automated equipment.
· Resolve operational problems related to projects and minimize delays or unexpected cost increases.
· Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for all work completed.
· Interpret client requirements, identify and address design parameters and engineering problems and ensure solutions are implemented accurately and within budget.
· Provide technical support to customers.
ENGINEERING
· Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting design including industrial electrical requirements, robotic safety standards, and motor controls.
· Create and finalize designs to meet project requirements.
· Create accurate Bill of Materials.
· Define equipment and parts from external suppliers
· Modifies system upon customer’s request and documents the amendments accordingly.
PROJECT EXECUTION
· Develop industrial electrical design, schematics, and drawings in AutoCAD
· Industrial electrical, software design of customized solutions including manufacturing automation and safety systems
· Support manufacture, build and validation of systems which include pneumatic, servos, vfd’s, relays, communication networks, touchscreens, push buttons, and robotic integration
· Create customer documentation such as user manuals, programming diagrams, network diagrams, and electrical drawings.
· Ability to architect programs for PLC, HMI, Robot & Vision that are robust, simple to test, well documented and versatile
· Depending on complexity of project, onsite installation may be required at customer facilities
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or similar related field)
· Minimum five (5) years related industrial job experience
· Proficient with MS Office, Allen Bradley RS Logix 500, Allen Bradley Stuido 5000, Siemens Step7 Professional, Siemens TIA Portal, AutoCAD Electrical
· Robotic Programming | Fanuc Robo-Guide, Fanuc Robots, other Robots preferred but not required
· Vision experience is preferred but not required (Cognex, Keyence)
· Microsoft Visual Studio preferred but not required (Visual Basic)
· Strong knowledge of industrial control and electrical system design and its application in automated industrial designs including specification of vision, power, sensor, inspection, and communications systems
· Efficiently organize and plan work tasks to meet company goals
· Critical thinking with exceptional problem-solving skills, able to work independently and in team environments
· Proactive, resourceful & highly motivated with good communication skills and ability to work in high output environment
· Must be a self-starter, ability to balance multiple projects
· Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
· Travel as required based on project
