This position is located at the DMV Headquarters in Sacramento.
DMV operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This position has core work hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Weekends, long and/or irregular hours, after-hours work, holiday work, and overnight travel may be required. This position is required to carry a DMV issued cell phone and required to be reachable outside of normal business hours. Telework available. Telework requires California residency. This position may be required to occasionally report to the designated office location in DMV headquarters at 2415 First Avenue, Sacramento, California, 95818. Travel expenses related to reporting to designated office is employee's own responsibility and is not eligible for reimbursement.

Part-time telework available. Telework requires California residency. This position offers hybrid telework opportunities; however, telework arrangements are subject to change at any time based on State & departmental operational needs. Employees may be required to report to the office as necessary.
The incumbent performs work indoors in a climate-controlled environment under artificial lighting. The incumbent must carry a cell phone and respond to calls after hours to lead multi-disciplinary IT professionals' team(s) in organizing, analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving IT system problems; Organization-wide travel is integral to our operations and will be required of all team members as necessary.

- Foundational experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or similar operational IT environment, including monitoring system performance, responding to alerts, and following escalation procedures. - Ability to analyze and triage technical issues involving enterprise applications, network connectivity, identity services, or server/cloud environments. - Familiarity with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, BigPanda, Splunk, or similar technologies. - Understanding of basic networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing fundamentals. - Experience working with ServiceNow or another ITSM ticketing system, including documenting incidents and communicating resolutions. - Ability to read, follow, and update technical documentation such as SOPs, Knowledge Base (KB) articles, runbooks, or system guides. - Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with technical teams, vendors, and end users. - Ability to prioritize multiple alerts, tasks, or incidents in a fast paced operational setting. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively, contributing to continuous improvement of NOC workflows. - Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving enterprise systems. - Experience supporting coordination with vendors or service providers is helpful. - Ability to lift up to 25 pounds of IT equipment when needed.
