Summary:
The Annual Giving and Stewardship Coordinator serves the Bishop of Las Cruces'
ministry by supporting the fundraising and stewardship goals of the Development Office. The coordinator works under the direction of the Director of Development and may interact with diocesan and parish staff, priests, donors, parishioners, and volunteers.
Your primary responsibilities involve implementing the #IGiveCatholic Day and the annual appeal, donor recognition and create meaningful engagement plans to increase financial support using an omnichannel approach,. The Annual Giving t and Stewardship Coordinator performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision and values of the Diocese of Las Cruces.

Fundraising
- Contribute to fundraising success by supporting key initiatives such as #IGiveCatholic Day and United in Ministry stewardship activities. Contribute to outreach endeavors, craft impactful multi-channel communications, and undertake diverse assigned responsibilities.
- Conduct donor research on current and prospective donors of all giving levels, and help identify donors with major gift and planned gift potential. Put together donor profiles in advance of meetings for the Development Director.
- Maintain knowledge of current annual giving and stewardship trends.
Operations
- Leverage Raiser's Edge and Excel to identify key constituents and design impactful outreach strategies. Collaborate with Advancement Services to ensure data accuracy and integrity, keeping operations running seamlessly.
- Partner with the Director of Development to streamline and enhance internal operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness across all program functions, including but not limited to first-time donor communications and stewardship events.
- Support special events and projects
- Coordinate direct outreach to targeted Broad-based and lower Midlevel donors. This will be completed via telephone and email and utilizing other tools as appropriate, engaging in primarily stewardship and cultivation outreach to targeted lists of broad base and midlevel donors (i.e., new donor welcome calls, broad base surveys, immediate stewardship thank you calls and emails for recent giving).
- Outline processes to ensure the successful creation and running of queries for direct mail and email programs, stewardship mailings, event invitations, and requested advancement/Development-related reports.
- Work with the Development Director to develop and maintain procedures manual for usage of Raiser's Edge. Follows processes for maintaining data integrity, compliance, security, and privacy and gift information.
- Conducts database clean-up, including reconciling constituent codes, removing/combining duplicate records, standardizing addresses, and restructuring relationship codes to match needs of development and alumni functions. Runs quarterly database health tools to update addresses, phone and email records, and deceased information.
- Set up event registration forms in Raiser's Edge, imports and exports of data as requested from the Director of Development.
- Assisting in projects and activities related to our CRM of record, Raiser's Edge NXT and other related systems. Activities may include list preparation, updating records, preparing files and communications, as well as assisting in data preparation, research, reporting, and analysis, among others.
Communications and Engagement
- Energize engagement by utilizing a dynamic mix of email, mailings, and phone calls that resonate with the mission of the Church.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to parishioners with a commitment to the highest standards of professionalism and urgency.
- Work closely with the Director to shape impactful and engaging communication strategies for annual giving and stewardship programs. Responsibilities may include crafting compelling call scripts, voicemail messages, and written content that resonate and inspire faith in action; strategically building and refining outreach lists to ensure the right messages reach the right audiences.
- Develop graphics and written content for holidays and seasons such as Christmas, Lent, Easter, Thanksgiving, and more.
- Monitor email, direct mail, and program schedules, as well as shared inboxes. Create and maintain email distribution and contact lists
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, can organize multiple projects, meet deadlines and solve problems. Excellent written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment among diverse internal and external constituencies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail and experience drafting and preparing business correspondence.
- Event Photographer
- Responsible for creating mailing lists, sending out monthly pledge reminders, and acknowledgement letters.

- Travel within the Diocese of Las Cruces.
- Work evenings and weekends, as needed for special events or projects.
- Catholic in good standing with the Church who possesses knowledge of the Catholic faith, structures, and practices
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or related field
- Three (3) years' practical experience in fundraising/sales, community outreach, corporate giving, higher education, and/or volunteer management or engagement.
- Knowledge of basic fundraising principles and best practices related to charitable giving.
- Experience in a Roman Catholic environment is a plus.
Language Skills
- Possesses professional proficiency in oral and written English-language communication.
- Possesses a clear speaking voice.
- Spanish-language communication skills are strongly preferred.
Other Knowledge, Skills, Attitudes
- Supports the mission of the Roman Catholic Church
- Experience with databases like Raiser's Edge, Salesforce, and Donor Perfect is strongly preferred, along with skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Office, PowerPoint, WordPress, Google Suite, Canva, and PowerPoint
- Possesses time management skills including ability to manage several projects at the same time
- Possesses proficiency in social media applications and platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
- Successful experience in project management is preferred.
