About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and hands‑on Project and Customer Relationship Manager to partner with the current Plant Manager and team in overseeing day‑to‑day customer relations, scheduling delivery and supporting production scheduling, maintaining system dashboards, support of and overseeing logistics staff and strengthening organizational processes. This role is critical to ensuring efficient job execution, accurate backlog management, and high‑quality customer service, while driving continuous improvement across production, logistics, inventory, and financial controls.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in rebar fabrication, steel manufacturing, or project-driven industrial environments, and thrives in a fast‑paced operation where precision, efficiency, and safety are paramount.
Key Responsibilities
Customer & Job Management
- Manage customer relationships with a strong focus on contract execution, job status tracking, and backlog accuracy.
- Analyze job performance, develop and maintain backlog forecasts, contract and escalation timelines and reporting, and material requirements to support production planning and customer satisfaction.
Logistics & Delivery
- Optimize load planning, delivery schedules, and trucking coordination to reduce transportation costs and avoid LTL shipments, detention time, and inefficiencies.
- Support management of internal trucking operations and alignment between fabrication, loading, and outbound logistics.
Data, Reporting & Process Improvement
- Produce and maintain timely and accurate customer contract backlog reporting.
- Support accounting in its financial modeling, scenario planning, and strategic decision-making related to plant operations and production capacity.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive experience in rebar fabrication, steel manufacturing, or a highly related industry.
- Strong background in customer relations (sales), logistics coordination, and delivery scheduling.
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels—from executives to shop floor teams.
- Proficiency in reading rebar fabrication drawings, details, bend types, bar specs, rebar accessories (couplers, threading, chairs, etc.), and placement diagrams.
- Solid understanding of industry best practices and compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to manage and work well in a team environment.
Preferred Experience
- Hands-on experience with Soule, ASA, or comparable rebar production software.
- Background in organizations with internal trucking/trailer fleets, fabrication lines, or high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to make real-time operational and customer production scheduling optimization decisions.
- Experience supporting fast-growing businesses with complex workflows and evolving infrastructure.
