Position Summary
A mission-driven healthcare organization in Peoria, Illinois is seeking compassionate and motivated Registered Nurses (RNs) to join its inpatient teams across Medical-Surgical (Acute Care), LTAC, Critical Care (ICU), and Acute Rehab units. Opportunities are available for new graduate nurses as well as experienced RNs, with unit placement based on experience, preference, and organizational need.
Work Environment & Units
- Medical-Surgical / Acute Care – general med-surg, nephrology
- LTAC – long-term acute care, complex medical needs, ventilator care
- Critical Care / ICU – high-acuity patients requiring advanced monitoring, vasoactive drips, ventilators
- Acute Rehab – post-acute care, interdisciplinary rehabilitation, functional recovery
- EPIC electronic medical record system
- In-person, hospital-based roles
- Multiple openings available
Schedule & Shift Details
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- 12-hour shifts typical; day or night shifts available (unit dependent)
- Weekend and holiday rotations as required
- Floating may be required based on unit needs
- Cancellation policy: Up to 12 hours every 13 weeks
Compensation & Incentives
- Hourly pay range: $32.61 – $53.02 (based on role, unit, and experience)
- Annual salary range (acute care roles): $61,045.92 – $92,252.16
- Shift differentials available for nights and weekends
- $15,000 Sign-On Bonus (1-year commitment; eligibility based on role)
- Relocation assistance:
- Up to $6,000 for in-state moves
- Up to $12,000 for out-of-state moves
- Must relocate more than 50 miles (pre-approval required)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care within the scope of RN licensure
- Assess patient conditions and develop individualized plans of care
- Manage patients with complex medical needs, including:
- Post-surgical recovery
- Respiratory failure and ventilator care
- Wound care and IV antibiotics
- Cardiac conditions and hemodynamic monitoring
- Post-CVA, post-trauma, and rehabilitation needs
- Nephrology-related care
- Titrate IV drips as appropriate to unit (including vasoactive drips in ICU)
- Manage vascular access devices (CVC, PICC, and midline lines)
- Perform enteral feeding and PEG tube care as applicable
- Care for tracheostomy patients
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
- Educate patients and families and support emotional well-being
- Accurately document patient care in EPIC
- Maintain compliance with safety, regulatory, and accreditation standards
- Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Illinois license or ability to obtain
- BLS (AHA Healthcare Provider) required prior to start
- ACLS required for ICU/critical care units
- New graduate nurses encouraged to apply
- Prior RN experience preferred; minimum 1 year required for LTAC and ICU roles
- BSN preferred (not required)
- Basic proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft applications
