Encompass Community Supports, formerly known as Rappahannock Rapidan Community Services (RRCS) is hiring a Human Resources Generalist II. Encompass Community Supports is a Virginia State community services organization that improves the quality of life in Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange, and Rappahannock Counties by providing comprehensive mental health, substance use, developmental disability, housing, children’s, and aging services. At Encompass Community Supports, our full-time employees work 37.5 hours weekly.
Our Human Resources Generalist II administers the day-to-day operations of human resources functions such as: new employee orientation, new employee on-boarding activities, training and development, performance management, and general HR activities. Work is performed under regular supervision.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Conducts New Employee Orientation bi-weekly for new hires. Ensures all compliance requirements are met during on-boarding for all new hires.
- Ensures all new hire personnel and training documents are accurate, fully completed, and filed electronically and in hard copy format where applicable.
- Coordinates with other speakers to present at each New Employee Orientation.
- Administers Training Programs: Coordinates in-house employee trainings for trainings such as Mandt, First Aid / CPR, Medication Administration to ensure enough trainings are held each month to meet staff needs; help leaders schedule their staff into the training sessions; track staff trainings by division and help ensure compliance standards are met. Enter training records into Relias and maintains records. Help ensures Agency’s compliance with licensing and regulations regarding required trainings.
- Must become certified and assist with teaching First Aid/ CPR and Mandt as needed. Agency will pay all
- Assist with or lead leadership trainings.
- Attend virtual quarterly regional training sessions and share pertinent information with leadership
- Work with DBHDS, DARS and all external agencies on compliance training matters
- Work with leadership on internal agency and DBHDS, DARS and all external agencies compliance training matters
- Assists with the implementation and maintenance of the performance management system.
- May assist with recruiting. Includes posting jobs, extending offers and preparing offer letters.
- May assist with reference and background checks; verifies credentials for selected candidates.
- May assist with employment verifications.
- Participates in 1 to 2 ECS community events yearly
- Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
- Performs other projects and assignments as needed.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
- Prepares and analyzes periodic reports and presentations for management, as necessary or requested.
- Participates on the Workforce Development Committee
- May assist in preparing paperwork for Unemployment hearings.
- Assists during any Human Resources audit.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- General knowledge of employment laws and practices;
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
- Excellent oral and written communication;
- Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills;
- High level of confidentiality and organizational skills
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree with at least three years HR experience.
PREFERRED
- Experience conducting New Hire Orientations
- Experience with new hire on-boarding process.
- Experience with performance management.
