JOB SUMMARY:
Under direct supervision of the Program Director(s), the Data Analyst will play a critical role in helping the organization define, implement, and operationalize meaningful performance metrics for CalAIM programs. This role plays a critical part in ensuring program performance, compliance with Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) and Medi-Cal Managed Care Plan (MCP) requirements, and data-driven decision-making to improve member outcomes. The analyst works closely with program leadership, care managers, and compliance teams. This role combines analytical expertise with programmatic understanding and change management skills.
The ideal candidate will help leadership decide what KPIs matter, translate those KPIs into practical data workflows, and support staff in using data to improve outcomes, contract performance, and reporting accuracy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Help leadership and program staff identify and define key performance indicators (KPIs) for CalAIM programs
- Analyze case management and program data to track performance and outcomes
- Create simple reports and dashboards for internal use and external reporting
- Support reporting for CalAIM programs: Enhanced Care Management (ECM), Community Supports, or other delegated services
- Improve data collection, data quality, and documentation processes
- Train staff on how to use reports and understand KPIs
- Track program performance metrics, KPIs, and contract deliverables (e.g., engagement rates, care plan completion, outcomes)
- Provide ad hoc data support for program planning and quality improvement

REQUIRED EDUCTION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience working with data in healthcare, public health, or social services
- Strong Excel skills and experience analyzing datasets
- Familiarity with Power Pivot and Power Query
- Ability to explain data clearly to non-technical staff
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral form.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
- Comfortable working in a fast-changing, resource-limited environment
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must read and write fluently in English, with good communication and writing skills.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
The ability to perform simple arithmetic calculations is required to establish totals for timecards, supply requests, etc.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to work independently, exercise initiative and good judgment and solve practical problems within established limits and guidelines. Ability to recognize instances in which consultation with a Senior Director and other project staff should be sought before a decision is made.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is primarily a remote position with hybrid option. When working remotely the employee will need an appropriate work space (a quiet, private space) with a secure internet connection. Attendance at virtual meetings will be required and the employee may be required to travel for occasional in-person meetings or trainings.
Physical demands will include sitting, bending, lifting, driving and walking.
