GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Performs a variety of technical office and field functions related to the design, maintenance, and management of power plant facility drawings, records, and project documentation.
Responsibilities:
GENERAL DUTIES
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Compile information and prepare reports, forms, records, and other documentation as required.

SPECIFIC DUTIES
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Utilize computer-aided drafting (CAD) software and other drafting tools to prepare, revise, and maintain engineering drawings and project documentation. Perform layout and design activities including drafting, revising field prints, calculating elevations, and updating drawings to reflect field modifications.

Assist with engineering and design activities by:
-
Establishing structural and equipment centerlines and elevations.
-
Calculating areas, volumes, steel quantities, and similar engineering measurements.
-
Monitoring grades, slopes, and elevations.
-
Collecting and documenting survey data.
-
Developing contour maps and survey drawings.
-
Detailing structural steel, reinforcing steel, anchor bolts, concrete embedments, and related construction components.

Prepare bills of material from approved construction drawings and develop graphs, charts, presentations, and other technical illustrations as needed.

Operate and maintain drafting, surveying, testing, and measurement equipment, including but not limited to surveying instruments, concrete testing equipment, sounding equipment, tapes, calipers, and other tools as required.

Assist Project Engineers with field investigations and site visits, including taking measurements, performing basic calculations, preparing sketches, and documenting field conditions.

Develop and maintain a working knowledge of power plant drawings, records, project files, and document management systems located at Corporate and plant facilities. Provide drawings, records, and technical information to plant personnel, contractors, and authorized external agencies as requested.

Support the organization, maintenance, retention, and retrieval of Power Generation drawings, records, and technical documentation.

Perform housekeeping and record-maintenance activities necessary to support project work and maintain an orderly work environment.

Develop a working knowledge of power plant operations and associated equipment systems.
-
Communicate project status, progress, issues, and other relevant information to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
-
Perform field surveying, soil testing, concrete testing, river sounding, and related technical activities as required.

Become familiar with electrical, civil, and mechanical symbols, standards, terminology, and drafting conventions applicable to assigned work.

Specific Qualifications

Demonstrate proficiency with computer applications and possess a minimum of one year of training or experience utilizing Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) software and related tools.

Possess the mathematical skills necessary to perform job-related calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and basic geometry.

Possess a background in drafting, electrical design, civil design, or mechanical design and demonstrate the ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and construction documents.

Demonstrate the ability to interact professionally and effectively with internal customers, contractors, regulatory agencies, and the public while maintaining positive working relationships across departments.
