Duties

• Set up and calibrate neurophysiological monitoring equipment prior to surgeries, ensuring accurate data collection.
• Monitor patients’ neural responses throughout surgical procedures, focusing on motor, sensory, and cranial nerve functions.
• Collaborate closely with surgical teams to interpret real-time neurophysiological data and alert them to any changes indicating potential neurological compromise.
• Maintain detailed documentation of intraoperative findings, technical procedures, and patient responses for legal and clinical records.
• Assist with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to monitoring devices promptly during surgeries.
• Ensure adherence to hospital protocols, safety standards, and infection control procedures throughout all monitoring activities.
• Stay current with advancements in neurophysiology and intraoperative monitoring techniques to continually improve service quality.

Experience

• Proven experience as an Intraoperative Neuromonitoring Technician or in a related neurophysiology role within a hospital setting.
• Strong knowledge of neuroanatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation methods relevant to intraoperative monitoring.
• Familiarity with advanced imaging techniques such as CT (Computed Tomography) scans used for surgical planning and intraoperative navigation.
• Experience working in Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers is highly preferred, demonstrating ability to operate under high-pressure situations.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs interpretation, and emergency medicine protocols essential for rapid response during critical moments.
• Prior involvement in neurocritical care environments enhances understanding of complex neurological conditions requiring vigilant monitoring.
• Certification in intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring is required; ongoing education is encouraged to maintain cutting-edge skills.
