Position Summary

QT Corporation in Goldsboro, North Carolina, invites applications from qualified engineering professionals for the position of Automation-Electrical Designer. This is not a remote work position. QT Corporation is a leader in electrical Switchboard, energy storage, data center, solar and EV charging industries controls equipment, delivering innovative engineering solutions to clients across the industry. We are growing our engineering team and seeking a skilled AutoCAD Designer with electrical expertise to support our design and documentation needs.

The successful candidate should have a passion for precision design and hands-on technical work. Direct report to engineering manager.

Primary Responsibilities

· Create and modify electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical

· Develop and maintain drawing libraries, symbol standards, and project templates

· Collaborate with engineers to translate specifications into accurate technical drawings

· Perform design reviews and ensure drawings comply with industry standards (UL 891, UL 508A, NEC, IEC, etc.)

· Manage drawing revisions and maintain organized project files

· Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and field teams on design documentation

Minimum Qualifications

· Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Drafting/Design Technology, Electrical Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)

· Minimum 2+ years of experience with AutoCAD

· Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical strongly preferred

· Familiarity with electrical symbols, standards, and schematics

· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

· Strong command of engineering fundamentals, analytical methods, and industry best practices

· Ability to read and interpret technical specifications

· Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences

Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are advantageous and will be given favorable consideration during the selection process:

· Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment

· Knowledge of NEC, IEC, or UL 508A, 891 standards

· Experience with document management systems

· Ability to read and interpret electrical datasheets and equipment manuals

· Switchgear experience (strongly preferred)

· Electrical systems knowledge

· Power distribution equipment

· Industrial or manufacturing background

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
