Position Overview: This new position will lead KBFPC’s fundraising efforts and help diversify and grow financial support, sustaining the organization’s long-term commitment to reducing barriers to reproductive healthcare and education on the Kenai Peninsula. Working closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, and Admin Team, the Development Director communicates the unique history and context of KBFPC and inspires current and potential donors to support this timely and critical work.

Essential Functions:

Donor Development

• Serve as KBFPC’s primary fundraising leader; coordinating individual, corporate, and foundation philanthropic giving from regional and national funders
• Create, implement, and monitor a comprehensive, strategic annual Development Plan in alignment with agency’s annual budget
• Set and achieve fundraising goals that maintain the agency’s fiscal health, increase organizational capacity, and provide future financial resources for sustainability and expansion
• Plan, coordinate, execute, and track Annual Giving and other campaigns, including monthly giving and planned giving programs
• Plan and organize small gatherings and large fundraising events, including cultivation and stewardship events, in coordination with staff, Board of Directors, and other volunteers
• Support and work closely with the CEO on conducting research and developing strategies to cultivate and steward individual relationships with current and prospective major gift donors in addition to public/private institutional funders
• Manage and track submission calendar of public and private grant deadlines, including identifying new funding opportunities
• Work closely with CEO and other staff to write grant proposals; participate in grant award compliance tracking
• Coordinate Board Development Committee meetings and projects according to Development Plan

Communications & Stewardship

• Foster a strong agency identity and positive image for potential donors
• Expand philanthropic support by identifying and strengthening relationships with community stakeholders
• Coordinate design, publication, and distribution of Annual Impact Report
• Generate social media campaigns related to agency brand and services as part of agency-wide Promotion Plan (separate from educational content)
• Author and distribute press releases about agency updates
• In tandem with Community Liaison: solicit content, edit, and publish regular agency newsletters to more than 1,200 subscribers; grow newsletter audience

Donor Management & Tracking Systems

• Manage portfolio of individual and corporate donors prioritized for further stewardship and cultivation
• Collect, organize, maintain, and grow accurate database record of donors and funding received (CRM)
• Process and track donations; issue gift acknowledgements and tax receipts for monetary and in-kind donations
• Prepare and present monthly reports for CEO and Board on progress toward fundraising goals
• Regularly analyze giving data and trends to inform fundraising strategies and activities

Agency Administration Support

• Collaborate with agency’s Admin Team and attend regular meetings as appropriate
• Participate in Outreach activities that align with fundraising goals according to predetermined schedule
• Other agency-wide administrative projects, as needed

Required Skills and Experience:

• 3-5 years experience in nonprofit development and fundraising required; professional familiarity with Alaskan communities and the Kenai Peninsula preferred
• Professional experience with donor/CRM software (Bloomerang strongly preferred)
• Professional experience or demonstrated interest in reproductive healthcare
• Well-practiced in volunteer engagement in pursuit of development goals
• Exceptional personal, verbal, and written communication skills, especially compelling writing voice; some visual/graphic design experience preferred
• Ability to think critically and problem-solve; practice designing collaborative solutions to organizational challenges
• Ability to think strategically, identify milestones, and define processes for achieving goals; innovative problem-solver
• Familiarity with social media strategies and digital media analytics
• Technologically savvy, with the ability to learn new software; excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite required, including high aptitude and knowledge of spreadsheets, PDFs, design tools (Canva), and electronic file management; experience with project management software (Monday.com, etc.) preferred
• Work may occur onsite or in the community with periodic work on evenings and weekends as part of donor stewardship
• Have a valid Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle to travel regionally for work or professional development
• Ability to lift 30lb comfortably
• Successful clearance of KBFPC background check

Pay: $63,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
